Worst Case Execution Time

I've just started work at a company which does 'Worst Case Execution Time' analysis (which, for those who don't know is the maximum amount of time that a given processor takes to perform a particular program).

This is a requirement in hard real time software applications where it is vital that the software responds within a certain timescale (airbags in a car is a typical example - too early and the bag is deflating before the impact of the person; too late and the bag inflates too close to the person and can cause injury!).

This entry is also kind of a test to see whether this page rides higher up in the rankings than our own website...
